South Andros Island is widely regarded as one of the finest bonefishing destinations in the world - and Bair's Lodge has been the benchmark for South Andros bonefishing since 1989. Located directly on the ocean on the eastern side of the island, boats depart from the beachfront dock each morning and run straight to the fish. No trailering, no fuel stops, no wasted time. The lodge sits between Deep Creek and Little Creek, giving immediate access to more than 120 square miles of productive flats. Bonefish averaging 4–6 pounds populate the sheltered creek systems, the vast ocean-side flats, and the inland waters tucked deep inside the island. The legendary West Side - reachable in about 50 minutes by skiff, is where South Andros' largest fish roam. Double-digit bonefish are not a myth here. They are a realistic target on the right tide. What makes South Andros exceptional is the variety of terrain. Pristine white sand flats, turtle grass, mangrove shorelines, and sheltered creek systems all within reach of the lodge. The fish see relatively little pressure, it is not unusual to see bonefish turn to eat a fly that lands just short of them.
